1. Overview

By enrolling in a SerafinTech maintenance plan, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined below. These plans are designed to proactively maintain and support WordPress-based websites — and only WordPress-based websites. Our job is to keep your site lean, secure, and fast. Your job is not to break it — or at least, to let us know before you try.

The specific services included with your maintenance plan are determined by the plan you select. Each plan builds upon the services provided by the preceding plan unless otherwise stated on the individual plan page.

⸻

2. What’s Included

Depending on your selected plan (ie: Silver, Chromium, Titanium, Platinum, etc.), your coverage may include:

  • WordPress core updates
  • Plugin and theme updates
  • Database optimization
  • Daily security scans
  • Real-time uptime monitoring
  • Monthly maintenance reports
  • Off-site backups
  • Help desk support (if included)
  • WooCommerce support (Chromium or higher plans)
  • WooCommerce core updates and infrastructure monitoring
  • Action Scheduler cleanup
  • Webhook monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Third-party plugin support for actively maintained plugins
  • Payment gateway monitoring
  • Email delivery troubleshooting
  • Checkout and payment flow troubleshooting
  • Cloudflare WAF rules and setup
  • Malware removal (if included)
  • PHP version compatibility review
  • Critical issue response
  • HPOS migration and validation
  • WooCommerce session analysis
  • AI application support and maintenance
  • Vendor escalation and coordination
  • Shipping integration support
  • Staging environment management
  • Hosting support and coordination

Not every service listed above is included with every plan. Your individual maintenance plan page defines the services included with your selected plan.

When updates are performed, we use available backups and appropriate recovery procedures to protect the site and roll back changes when necessary. Off-site backup storage and management are included only with plans that specifically include off-site backups.

3. What’s Not Included

To clarify — SerafinTech is not your Google Ads manager, or your uncle’s “developer friend.”

Unless specifically stated as included in your individual maintenance plan, we do not cover:

  • Google Analytics (GA4), Google Merchant Center, Google Ads, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console, conversion tracking, or related marketing and analytics tools
  • SEO strategy, ongoing SEO management, or search engine rankings
  • Email marketing or social media management
  • Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Magento, or other non-WordPress or SaaS website platforms
  • Domain registration or domain ownership management
  • DNS administration unless specifically required as part of an included service
  • Email account or mailbox configuration
  • Hosting outages or failures originating within a hosting provider’s infrastructure
  • Third-party service outages or failures originating entirely within the third-party provider’s infrastructure
  • Malware removal unless explicitly included in your plan
  • Daily performance scans or custom performance dashboards
  • Abandoned, unsupported, or unmaintained plugins and themes
  • Development or modification of third-party software controlled by an outside vendor
  • Website redesigns, new website development, or major new features
  • Custom plugin, application, or software development unless separately approved
  • Large-scale content entry, product entry, or catalog management
  • Third-party vendor fees, subscriptions, licenses, hosting fees, or premium software
  • Work required as a result of unapproved site modifications or work performed by third-party contractors

If we identify an issue outside the scope of your plan while monitoring or maintaining your website, we may notify you as a courtesy. Notification of an issue does not mean that investigation, management, or remediation of an excluded service is included in your maintenance plan.

4. Client Responsibilities

By joining a maintenance plan, you agree not to modify your website’s core structure or give third parties access without notifying us first. Routine website management, such as creating pages, adding content, or adding products, is generally permitted. The restrictions below apply to changes that can directly affect the stability, security, functionality, or maintainability of the website.

That includes:

  • Installing, removing, or replacing plugins
  • Switching themes or modifying the active theme
  • Hiring third-party contractors, designers, or developers to modify the website without notifying us first
  • Adding or modifying custom code
  • Adding tracking scripts or third-party integrations on production or staging environments
  • Making server, database, caching, security, or other infrastructure changes that may affect the website

These actions directly impact your site’s stability and your maintenance plan eligibility. If you move forward without notifying us, we reserve the right to:

  • Adjust your monthly rate
  • Suspend or downgrade your plan
  • Bill you at $130/hour for any cleanup, debugging, restoration, or rollback required as a result

AI Agents and Automated Services

AI agents, AI assistants, automated support tools, and similar features offered through WordPress plugins or third-party services may require administrative, API, credential, or other access to your website. Some plugins may introduce or enable these features through routine software updates.

Before enabling, authorizing, connecting, or using any AI agent or automated service that can access or make changes to your website, you must notify SerafinTech.

Granting this type of access introduces a third party into the security of your website and may create access that SerafinTech cannot monitor, restrict, or protect. We cannot guarantee the security of your website against actions taken through credentials or access granted to a third-party AI or automated service.

It is your responsibility to inform SerafinTech of changes made outside the scope of our maintenance plan that may affect the website’s operation, security, or stability.

⸻

5. Staging & Production Environment Policy

  • Staging environments managed under your maintenance plan are reserved for SerafinTech unless otherwise agreed upon.
  • Staging is used for safe testing, diagnostics, troubleshooting, updates, and validation. Clients may not share staging access with outside developers, designers, or freelancers without notifying us first. If someone else needs to work on the site, they should use a separate development environment or coordinate with us beforehand.
  • The production (live) website is subject to the same modification and access requirements.
  • Third parties may not install plugins, modify code, or insert custom tracking or integrations without notifying us first. Issues caused by unauthorized or unapproved modifications are not covered under the maintenance plan and may be billed separately.

⸻

6. Support & Additional Work

  • Help Desk time is limited to the amount included in your individual plan
  • Additional work outside the scope of your plan is billed at $130/hour unless a separate estimate or project rate is approved
  • Additional work will be performed with prior approval
  • Support requests must be submitted through the designated email or support form
  • No guaranteed turnaround time applies unless specifically stated in your plan or otherwise agreed upon
  • Critical issue response means priority attention to qualifying critical website issues; it does not guarantee a specific resolution time unless otherwise agreed upon
  • Repeated use of support beyond the amount or scope included in your plan may result in an upgrade recommendation or a custom retainer agreement

Support, troubleshooting, vendor escalation, hosting coordination, and third-party integration support cover investigation, communication, troubleshooting, and coordination within the scope of your plan. SerafinTech cannot guarantee resolution of an issue that requires changes to systems, infrastructure, software, or services controlled by another provider.

⸻

7. Updates, Rollbacks & Plugin Policy

  • Before performing updates, we verify that an appropriate recovery point is available. This may include a hosting-provider backup, staging environment, or other backup method depending on the website and maintenance plan.
  • Off-site backup storage and management are provided only when explicitly included in your maintenance plan.
  • If an update causes a compatibility or functionality issue, we may roll back the affected change and notify you.
  • Plugins or themes that have not been updated by their developer in 12+ months may be flagged for removal, replacement, or further review.
  • We do not debug, maintain, or guarantee compatibility with abandoned or unsupported plugins or themes.
  • Third-party plugin support included with applicable plans applies to actively maintained plugins and is limited to troubleshooting, compatibility assistance, vendor coordination, and other support specifically described by your plan.

⸻

8. Cancellations & Termination

  • You can cancel your plan anytime — just let us know
  • Services stop immediately upon cancellation unless otherwise agreed upon

We may suspend or terminate service if:

  • You repeatedly violate modification or access rules
  • Your site poses a security risk or becomes unmaintainable
  • We are prevented or blocked from accessing your website, hosting account, or other systems required to provide the services included in your plan
  • Third-party modifications or conditions make it unreasonable for us to continue maintaining the website under the existing plan

No refunds — but no hard feelings.

⸻

9. Limitation of Liability

We are not responsible for:

  • Revenue loss, lost sales, traffic drops, loss of rankings, or bad press
  • Broken features, security issues, or downtime caused by unauthorized or unapproved changes
  • Hosting provider outages, infrastructure failures, or actions taken by your hosting provider
  • Failures, outages, changes, or discontinued services involving third-party providers, plugins, APIs, payment gateways, shipping providers, or other external services outside our control
  • Issues resulting from abandoned or unsupported software
  • Alien invasions, solar flares, or acts of beings from another dimension or universe

Our maximum liability is capped at the amount you’ve paid us for your maintenance plan in the last 30 days. That’s it.

⸻

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time with notice. You’ll be informed by email of material changes, and continued use of your maintenance plan after the updated terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
